HEART ON DIAPHRAGM BASE

This model, crafted from specialized plastic, is life-sized. It can be disassembled into 8 parts, including a cross-section of the pericardium with the diaphragm, the thymus gland, the cardiac apex, and the lower sections of the ventricles. All four cardiac valves – the right and left atrioventricular valves and the pulmonary and aortic semilunar valves – are presented in an open position to provide a comprehensive view of the heart’s internal structures. The pericardium features incisions to expose the semilunar valves and the origins of the coronary arteries. It is mounted on a base.
